YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Two members of the Allegheny College men's track and field team represented the Gators at the season-opening YSU Icebreaker, hosted by the Youngstown State University Penguins at the Watson and Tressel Training Site on Friday.
First-year sprinter
Orion Greico (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport) made his collegiate debut on the track by running the 60- and 200-meter dashes. In the 60-meter qualifying race, he clocked in at 7.96 seconds. In the 200, Greico placed 76th with a time of 25.70 seconds.
Senior
Jacob King (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) had success in the throws despite facing a deep field that consisted of several Division I, II, and III teams. King's third attempt at the weight throw was his best and earned him a 10th-place finish at 14.80 meters. He also placed 19th out of 60 throwers in the weight throw at 12.67 meters.

Allegheny's opening weekend continues on Saturday, December 3, and Sunday, December 4, at the Green and Red Multi. The two-day event is hosted by Slippery Rock University and Edinboro University, beginning at SRU on Saturday.
