WOOSTER, Ohio -- Third-year runner
Colm Mulligan (Chestnut Hill, Mass./Brookline) led the Allegheny College men's cross country team with an eight-place finish at the 2022 Wooster Twilight 5K Challenge, hosted by the College of Wooster on the track at John P. Papp Stadium on Friday night.
Mulligan was the quickest Gator to the finish line with a time of 16:22.0. He battled Nathan Webb from Case Western Reserve University down the final stretch and beat Webb (16:22.5) by just a half second.
Two first-year runners,
Cole Jooste (Upper Saint Clair, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) and
William Lane (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber), finished back-to-back in 11th and 12th, respectively. Jooste was clocked with a time of 16:30.1 and had a seven-second lead over his classmate.
The race, which featured 37 individual runners from five different schools, was a non-scoring event.
