MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Former Division II student-athlete
Kat Ferretti was tabbed Allegheny College's assistant softball coach for the upcoming 2023 season, as announced by head coach
Beth Curtiss on Thursday afternoon.
A four-year starting second baseman at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio, Ferretti helped the Arrows qualify for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament for the first time in four years as a junior. The Arrows also punched their ticket to the postseason for a second consecutive season during her senior year.
A Brunswick, Ohio, native, Ferretti started 113 games in four seasons at Ursuline. Her best season came during the spring of 2022, when she batted .259 with career highs in hits (22), extra-base hits (8), RBIs (11), and runs scored (18). Ferretti also drew more walks (13) than strikeouts (9) while starting all 39 games as a senior. A defensive standout, she only committed eight errors in four seasons and finished with a career fielding percentage of .978.
Ferretti graduated from Ursuline with a Bachelor of Science in accounting in May of 2022. She previously worked as a staff accountant at Corwin and Company in Wadsworth, Ohio, before joining the Gators.
