PAC Release
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's swimming and diving team was picked third in the 2022 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.
Allegheny, which will be making its PAC debut after spending nearly four decades in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), trailed only Grove City College and Saint Vincent College in the poll. GCC was first with six of eight possible first-place votes and 76 points. The Bearcats (69 points) and Gators (66 points) each received one first-place vote.
In 2021-22, the Gators finished seventh out of nine teams in the NCAC.
Five Gators were highlighted on the 2022-23 PAC Women's Swimmers and Divers to Watch List, including
Maggie Baham (Richmond, Va./Glen Allen),
Ariana Clark (Pittsburgh, Pa./Freeport),
Jenna Halenda (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mars),
Olivia Kraus (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny), and
Katya Pryshchenko (Malvern, Pa./Aim Academy).
The 2022-23 schedule is set to begin with a home match at Allegheny's Mellon Pool against Washington and Jefferson College on Friday, October 21, at 6:00 p.m.
