LATROBE, Pa. -- Five from the Allegheny College men's cross country team received All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) recognition at the 2022 PAC Championships on Saturday, headlined by first-team honoree
Sean Heintzleman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Winchester Thurston).
The top seven finishers at the PAC Championship race receive All-PAC First Team recognition, while runners finishing eighth through 14th earn All-PAC Second Team honors. Runners finishing 15th through 21st receive All-PAC Honorable Mention recognition.
An All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) First-Team selection a year ago, Heintzleman paced the Gators to the finish line by placing fourth. His time of 26:07.67 was a new eight-kilometer personal record, and helped Allegheny finish as the runner-up in the team standings.
Three Gators were named to the All-PAC Second Team, including
Peter Lantz (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg),
Caleb Freeman (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth), and
Joe McAuliffe (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson).
Mac Polny (Robinson, Pa./Montour) was also recognized as an Honorable Mention.
Despite the second-place result, Allegheny was the only team in the conference to place all five scoring runners inside the top 15.
Zack Wyse (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) was chosen as Allegheny's representative on the PAC Sportsmanship Team. The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior, and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams and student-athletes.
