Women's Swimming & Diving Defeated by D-II Clarion

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's swimming and diving team finished a weekend homestand with a dual-meet loss to Division II Clarion University by a 187-43 final score on Saturday at the Mellon Pool.

The Golden Eagles (3-0) remained undefeated on the young season with an impressive performance, as they surrendered only five top-two finishes to the Gators (1-3).

The only Allegheny swimmer to notch a victory in the pool was former Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Rookie of the Week honoree, Josephine Reiter (Pittsburgh, Pa./CAPA), who took first in the 100-yard breaststroke. Reiter finished in 1:10.08 with a lead of 1.71 seconds over Ava Rosely.

Reiter was also one-quarter of the second-place 200-yard medley relay with Ariana Clark (Freeport, Pa./Freeport), Maggie Baham (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen), and Olivia Kraus (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny). The first event of the afternoon was one of the closet, as the Clarion team of Stella Chierico, Jocelyn Buchheit, Emma Dorsey, and Hannah Greenway beat the Gators by just four-tenths of a second.
