WOOSTER, Ohio – The Allegheny track and field teams returned to action as they competed at the Wooster Fighting Scots Invitational Saturday (Jan. 22).
 
The men carded four first-place finishes on the day. Tylir Shannon (Transfer, Pa./Reynolds) was victorious in the 400 meters with a time of 53.09. Logan Meyer (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon) also had a top finish in a running event, taking the 3000 meters run with a time of 8:57.83). The Gators also won a pair of field events. Dietrich Williams (Greenville, Pa./Reynolds) captured the high jump, clearing 1.96 meters. Jacob King (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) won the weight throw with a toss of 14.34 meters.
 
On the women's side, Emma Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) had the top individual finish, placing second in the shot put with a heave of 11.19 meters. The 2x200 meter team of Kelsey Anderson (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton), Julieta Schworm (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley), Erica Fontan (Valley Cottage, N.Y./Nyack), Mihaela Toader (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) also had a second-place showing with a time of 1:52.30.
 
The Gators are back in action Saturday (Jan. 29) at the Steemer Showcase, hosted by Wittenberg.
