MEADVILLE, Pa.—The Allegheny men's swimming and diving team closed out the regular season with a 148-73 win on senior day against Fredonia Saturday (Jan. 25).
Before the meet, the Gators honored their five seniors:
Tucker Harvey (Novelty, Ohio/West Geauga),
Justin Katchur (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield),
Rayshon Knight II (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights),
Arcadio Leary-Bignayan III (Seattle, Wash./O'Dea) and
Karl Stuntzner-Gibson (North Bend, Ore./North Bend).
The Gators collected wins in 12 of the events.
Logan Indest (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne),
Jack Van Meter (Altoona, Iowa/Southeast Polk) and
Pierre Jaeggi (Fountain Valley, Calif./Valiant Prep) each won a pair of races.
Indest captured first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:07.00 as well as the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:13.89. Van Meter's wins came in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.6. and the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:09.96. Jaeggi won the 200 freestyle with a time of 49.83 and the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:37.88. He also placed second in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:09.11
Knight II, Katchur and Stuntzner-Gibson also won races on their senior day.
Knight II's victory came in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.69. Katchur captured the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:14.80. Stuntzner-Gibson won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:01.99.
Ben Blackburn placed second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:25.28.
The 400 medley relay team of Van Meter, Katchur, Knight II and Stuntzner-Gibson won their race while the 200 freestyle relay team of Knight II, Katchur Harvey and Stuntzner-Gibson finished second.
In the diving portion of the event,
Hunter Pietrzycki (Parma, Ohio/Parma) scored 220.55 points in the one meter and 197.80 in the three meter dive.
The Gators are back in action Feb. 12-15 at the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships, hosted by Denison.
