MEADVILLE, Pa.—The Allegheny men's cross country team ran well as a pack as they finished second out of six teams at the 2019 Allegheny Classic in Meadville Saturday (Sept. 14).
Carnegie Mellon University took home the team title with 15 points, while Tartan runner Liam Walsh won the individual title with a time of 20:49. The Gators tallied 51 points to finish second, while Case Western Reserve University rounded out the top three with a score of 84.
The Gators top-five runners all placed between eighth and 13
th place.
Logan Meyer (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon) had the team's top finish, taking eighth with a time of 21:55.
Owen Isham (State College, Pa./State College Area) took ninth with a time of 22:00 in his second collegiate race.
Tim Weighart (Brookline, Mass./Brookline) placed 10
th, finishing with a time of 22:06 while
Lukas Dunaway (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) finished in 11
th with a time of 22:12.
Adam Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) rounded out the Gators top-five as he placed 13
th with a time of 22:29.
The one-to-five spread for the Gators was 34 seconds, the second best spread among the six teams.
Christian Geer (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) and
Liam McCann (New Albany, Ohio/Columbus Academy) were the sixth and seventh runners for Allegheny, placing 16
th and 19
th, respectively.
The Gators are off until Oct. 5 when they compete at the Lehigh Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa.
