MEADVILLE, Pa.—The Allegheny College men's track and field team competed in the 2019 Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational Friday (May 10) in Meadville.
Ben Bachik (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) was in a three-way tie for first in the high-jump, clearing a height of 1.85 meters.
Quinton Hunt (Bukeye, Ariz./Buckeye) finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 13.09 meters while
Moses Snell Jr. (North Lauderdale, Fla./Taravella) finished fourth with a time jump of 12.51 meters.
In the hammer throw,
Kurtis Williams (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) placed fourth with a toss of 53.78 meters. The Gators placed two in the top-eight of the shot put.
Noah Parker (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) placed fourth with a heave of 13.47 meters, while
Barry Tevrow (Swampscott, Mass./Swampscott) finished sixth with a toss of 12.50 meters. Tevrow also had a third-place finish in the discus with a throw of 40.85 meters.
Zack Casagrande (Sutersville, Pa./Yough) took fourth in the javelin with a toss of 53.01 meters.
In the 400 meter dash,
Tylir Shannon (Transfer, Pa./Reynolds) finished third with a time of 52.47.
Anthony Steinpreis (Tempe, Ariz./Marocs De Niza) finished third in the 100 meter dash, clocking in at 11.30.
Louis McUmber (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) closed the day for the Gators in the 5,000 meter run, finishing runner-up with a time of 16:05.90.
Members of the Gators will be competing again Wednesday (May 15) at the North Central Gregory Invitational.
