GRANVILLE, Ohio—The Allegheny College women's swimming and diving team continued competition at the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships.
The Gators started the evening in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Sadie Brown,
Anna Verardi,
Aimee Verardi and
McClaren Rodriguez finished fifth with a time of 1:37.70. The finish earned the Gators 56 points.
After the relay, the Gators had a trio in the 500-yard freestyle finals.
Emily Schaefer swam in the B-Finals of the event, finishing 15th overall with a time of 5:16.84.
Alyson Codner and
Riley Aul represented the Gators in the C-Finals. Codner won the heat as she finished 19th overall with a time of 5:24.64. Aul took 25th with a time of 5:38.00. Their combined finishes earned the Gators 28 points.
The Gators then had four swimmers in the finals of the 200-yard individual medley. Rodriguez and
Savannah Plaskon swam in the B-Finals. Rodriguez placed 14th overall with a time of 2:13.90 while Plaskon took 18th with a time of 2:18.62.
Lauren Isaacs and
Megan Corletti swam in the C-Finals. Isaacs finished 21st overall with a time of 2:16.98 while Corletti placed 26
th with a time of 2:20.85. The combined finishes earned the Gators 37 points.
The last individual event of the evening was the 50-yard freestyle which saw three Gator swimmers. Brown and
Anna Verardi swam in the B-Finals. Brown finished tied for 14th overall with a time of 24.31 while Verardi took 16th with a time of 24.39.
Megan Munzek swam in the C-Finals of the event, finishing 27th overall with a time of 26.46. The trio earned the Gators a total of 30.5 points.
The Gators concluded day two with the 400-yard medley relay. The team of
Anna Verardi, Isaacs,
Aimee Verardi and Rodriguez touched at a time of 4:00.22 to take fifth place, and earn 56 team points.
After two days of competition, the Gators sit in fourth place with 320.5 points. Host Denison University is currently in the lead with 705 points.
Competition resumes Friday morning (Feb. 15).
