CLEVELAND, Ohio - Following its inaugural season, the Allegheny field hockey team had a pair of players honored with All-NCAC (North Coast Athletic Conference) awards.
Kierstin Faw (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) was named to the second team while
Hallie Reiger (Oklahoma City, Okla./Casady) earned a spot on the honorable mention team, announced by the conference Wednesday (Nov. 13).
Faw made her way into the All-NCAC mentions with a strong defensive showing throughout the season. The junior defender led the team with 12 defensive saves, good for top marks in the conference and placing her fourth in the entirety of Division III. In the Gators first home game against DePauw, Faw made a season-high three defensive saves.
Reiger played in all 18 games this season and made 90 saves. She accrued only a 3.8 goals-allowed average, including two games in which she made double-digit saves. Against Wittenberg, Reiger made a season-high 13 saves.
