MEADVILLE, Pa.—The Allegheny men's swimming and diving team opened the home and dual meet portions of their schedule as they faced Division-II Clarion University at the Mellon Pool Friday (Oct. 18).
The Gators fell to the Golden Eagles 170-130, though they won six individual races.
Logan Indest highlighted the night for the Gators by winning the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:05.58, as well as the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:15.69. Indest also took second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:01.46.
Pierre Jaeggi placed first in the 500-yard freestyle that came down to the wire with a time of 5:02.88. He also finished third in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:06.08.
Jack Van Meter was victorious in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:06.30. He also finished third in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:07.49 and tied for third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.08.
Dalton Lodzins captured first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.84 and third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.59.
Justin Katchur won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:14.37.
Benjamin Blackburn finished second in the event with a time of 2:23.77.
Karl Stuntzner-Gibson had a pair of runner-up finishes in the 100-yard freestyle (50.35) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.52).
Wil Visnic placed third in the 100-yard butterfly (56.00) while tying for third in the 100-yard backstroke (59.08).
Arcadio Leary-Bignayan III took third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.86, while
Rayshon Knight II finished second in the 100-yard butterfly (54.93) and third in the 50-yard freestyle (23.07)
The 200-yard medley relay team of Van Meter, Katchur, Knight II and Stuntzner-Gibson finished second with a time of 1:41.55, while the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Lodzins, Jaeggi, Knight II and Stuntzner-Gibson also placed second with a time of 1:30.33.
In the diving portion of the dual,
Hunter Pietrzycki finished second in the one-meter dive with a score of 178.35 and third in the three-meter dive with a score of 174.52.
Riley Rizzer took fourth in both events while
Jaden Beckett finished fifth in both.
The Gators are back in Meadville next Saturday (Oct. 26) when they play host to Grove City College.
