Clarion Defeats Gator Men in Dual Meet

MEADVILLE, Pa.—The Allegheny College men's swimming and diving team wrapped up the home portion of the 2018-19 season at home against Division-II Clarion University.
 
The Gators fell 141-102 to their Division-II counterparts.
 
Before the meet, the Gators honored their three seniors: Brian Corletti, Lizzy Kee and Anastasios Mihalopoulos
 
Logan Indest had a pair of first-place finishes to lead the Gators. Indest captured both distance events, taking the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:07.71 and the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:30.08.  He also took third in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:06.38.
 
Junior Justin Katchur also had a first-place finish, capturing the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.34. Justin Leary-Bignayan finished third in the event with a time of 1:02.77.
 
Freshman Jack Van Meter had a trio of first-place finishes.  He took second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.53, the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:06.08 and the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:54.55.
 
Daniel Lodzins finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.43 and third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.66.
 
Rayshon Knight placed second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.93 while Karl Stuntzner-Gibson placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51.85.
 
Daniel Beck took third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.09 while Ben Blackburn took third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:16.90.
 
The 200-yard medley relay team of Beck, Justin Katchur, Knight and Stuntzner-Gibson won with a time of 1:35.82.   The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Lodzins, Leary-Bignayan, Katchur and Stuntzner-Gibson took second with a time of 1:31.48.
 
Hunter Pietrzycki took fourth in the one-meter dive with a score of 182.55, while Riley Rizzer took fourth in the three-meter dive with a score of 161.10.
 
The Gators are back in action Jan. 26 as they travel to Fredonia State University for their final dual meet of the year.
