MEADVILLE, Pa.—The Allegheny College women's swimming and diving team kicked-off the 2019 portion of their schedule at home against St. Vincent College.
The Gators picked up the win in convincing fashion, 227-61, placing first in every event.
Lauren Isaacs had three first-place finishes to lead the Gators. The freshman swept the breaststroke events, winning the 100-yard with a time of 1:08.85 and the 200-yard with a time of 2:31.74. Isaacs also won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:19.45.
Megan Corletti placed second in both breaststroke events with time of 1:12.13 in the 100- and 2:34.24 in the 200-yard.
Savannah Plaskon took second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:26.26.
McClaren Rodriguez and
Anna Verardi both had a pair of wins. Rodriguez won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.81 and the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.54.
Anna Verardi captured the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.73 and the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:15.22.
Megan Munzek took second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:08.76.
Alyson Codner won the first individual event of the competition, finishing with a time of 11:58.30 in the 1000-yard freestyle.
In the butterfly events,
Aimee Verardi won the 100-yard with a time of 1:02.82, while
Emily Schaefer won the 200-yard with a time of 2:19.77.
Rachel Tobler took second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:19.77.
Sadie Brown finished first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.41 while taking second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.83.
Miranda Farley captured first-place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:38.00.
The 200-yard medley relay team consisting of
Anna Verardi, Corletti,
Aimee Verardi and Rodriguez won with a time of 1:54.07. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Brown,
Aimee Verardi,
Anna Verardi and Rodriguez won with a time of 1:41.00.
Allegheny divers split the one- and three-meter boards.
Brionna Litwin took the one-meter board with a score of 244.55 while Chelsea Pietryzcki took the three-meter board with a score of 241.45.
The Gators return to the pool Friday (Jan. 18) as they host Division-II Clarion University on Senior Day.
