MEADVILLE, Pa. - Looking to bounce back from a tough defeat to #11 Wabash, the Gators return home this Saturday to take on North Coast Athletic Conference foe Ohio Wesleyan at 1 p.m. at Frank B. Fuhrer Field.
This week's meeting marks the 29th all-time between the Gators and Battling Bishops. Allegheny owns a 21-7 all-time advantage in the series, but Ohio Wesleyan has won each of the past two match ups, with a 50-7 decision in Delaware, Ohio last season, and a 17-14 OWU in in Meadville in 2012.

THE CENTURY CLUBAfter hauling in five catches for 27 yards in last week's loss at #11 Wabash, senior
Andrew Niklaus became just the seventh player in program history to record 100 career receptions. With 101 catches, he is now one behind the duo of Nathan Six (1995-98) and Terry Hartford (2007-10), who are tied for fifth on the all-time list. Jon Turner, a 2003 graduate, owns the school mark with 167 catches over his four-year career. Niklaus has made at least one catch in 26 of 33 career gaames.
FRESH FACES While the Gator roster has 60 returnees from the 2013 season, a number of newcomers have played big roles through the first three games of the '14 campaign. On the defensive side, each of the Gators' three leading tacklers are freshmen. Linebacker

PICK ITThrough the first three games of the season, the Gator defense has produced four interceptions, good for second most in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Senior
Ronnie Borne, the NCAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 22, leads the conference with three interceptions, which is tied for second most in all of Division-III, while freshman
Freddy Ruiz made his first career pick in last week's loss at Wabash.
FEW FLAGSThis week's game between the Gators and Battling Bishop features the two least penalized teams in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Ohio Wesleyan has been flagged just 13 times for 125 yards thus far, while the Gators have been penalized 15 times for 128 yards. Conversely, Ohio Wesleyan's opponents have been whistled for an average of 79.0 yards worth of penatlies per game, which leads the league, while the Gators have seen their opponents penalized 23 times, for an average of 73.7 yards per game.
BLASTS FROM THE PASTThe 1974 Gator football team will be honored during halftime ceremonies at this week's game with Ohio Wesleyan. The 1974 Gators finished 7-1, and won the Presidents' Athletic Conference championship, finishing in the top-10 nationally in total offense, total defense, rushing defense, and scoring. Six players, as well as then-head coach Sam Timer, are members of the Allegheny Hall of Fame, including current Gator head coach
Mark Matlak '78, who led the '74 squad with 10 touchdowns from the fullback spot as a freshman.
