Women’s Tennis Falls to Oberlin in Match Played to Decision

Box Score

OBERLIN, Ohio
– Due to the rainy conditions that lingered around Oberlin all of Friday, the NCAC women's tennis match between Allegheny and Oberlin was forced indoors, and was also set to be played to decision rather than to the completion of all nine matches. As a result, the Yeowomen (9-10, 2-1 NCAC) took the match 5-1, leaving three matches remaining on court.

The Gators (10-7, 1-3 NCAC) got the match started in doubles play on a positive note as Lauren Kristofco and Sara Longo won their flight one match, 8-5. The Yeowomen, however, would take the other two doubles matches, and held a 2-1 lead heading into singles play. Consecutive wins in singles play at flights one, three, and four would give the Yeowomen the match victory.

The women will remain in Oberlin for tomorrow's pair of matches against Wittenberg and Wooster. The match against Wittenberg is set for a 10:00 a.m. start and the Wooster match is slated to begin around 2:00 p.m.
