TRAFFORD, Pa. – Allegheny football's Re'Mir Ratchford (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Special Teams Player of the Week after helping the Gators to a season-opening victory.
 
In the second half of the team's 28-12 road win at Anderson (Ind.), Ratchford returned a punt 48 yards for a touchdown. It marked the Gators' first punt return touchdown since 2019. 
 
The Gators open up the home portion of the 2026 slate Saturday (Sept. 12) against Juniata.
