TRAFFORD, Pa. – Cortlon Campbell (Rocky River, Ohio/Lutheran West) of the Allegheny football team was honored as the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Week.
 
In the Gators 27-23 win at Saint Vincent, Campbell recorded six total tackles with a sack and an interception, helping the team move to 4-0 for the first time since 1996.  The highlight of the game came on the final play. On fourth and goal for the Bearcats, Campbell stepped in front of a pass on the goal line and picked it off to seal the conference victory.
 
Campbell and the Gators are back in action Saturday (Oct. 3) as they make a short trip south to Thiel.
