GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Allegheny College women's golf team kicked off the fall portion of the 2026-27 season at Denison University's annual Lynn Schweizer Invitational at the Denison Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.
As a team, the Gators placed 12th in a competitive field that included several programs that ended 2025-26 in the national and regional rankings. Washington University in St. Louis, No. 6 in last spring's Division III poll, won the tournament, followed by Randolph-Macon College, the 11th-best team in the country at the end of last season.
Allegheny logged rounds of 386 (+94) and 390 (+102) for a two-day total of 776. The Gators were 70 strokes shy of the College of Wooster in 11th, but held a 121-stroke advantage over Penn State Altoona.

Kessler Potter (Kents Store, Va./Fluvanna County) improved her score during the second round on Sunday. Potter began with a 94 (+21) on Saturday before turning in an 86 (+14) with the team's only birdie on the 352-yard second hole on Sunday.
