MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Allegheny College head men's basketball coach Pat Sullivan rounded out his staff for the upcoming  2026-27 season with the addition of assistant coach TJ Schlenvogt.

Schlenvogt enters his first season with the Gators and his seventh at the collegiate level, with experience coaching junior college, Division II, and Division III basketball. He spent the last two years as an assistant coach with the men's and women's teams at Bay College, a community college in his hometown of Escanaba, Michigan.

With Schlenvogt on the bench, both the men's and women's basketball teams at Bay achieved outstanding success on the hardwood. The men's program posted a combined record of 47-13 with back-to-back berths in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Great Lakes District C tournament. The Norse women were 45-16 in that span and advanced to the Great Lakes District C championship last winter. Both teams were featured in the NJCAA Division II national rankings during his tenure at Bay.

After making his coaching debut at Bay during the 2020-21 campaign, Schlenvogt spent two years as an assistant coach at Division II Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana, and one season at Division II Malone University in Canton, Ohio. In his first year at Hanover, the Panthers captured the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) regular-season title and advanced to the HCAC Tournament championship.

During his undergraduate years at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, Schlenvogt worked with the men's basketball team as a student manager. He assisted in all aspects of team operations, practice planning, and film breakdown. Throughout his four years at Northwood, the Timberwolves grew from a five-win team to reaching the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) championship game as a senior.

Schlenvogt graduated from Northwood in 2020 with a bachelor's in business administration. He completed his MBA at Malone in March 2025.
