MEADVILLE, Pa. -- For the third consecutive year, a student-athlete from the Allegheny College men's golf team was crowned medalist at the annual Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Memorial Invitational at the Country Club of Meadville.

Allegheny sophomore Christopher Hoffman (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) earned his second career victory with a strong two-day performance. Hoffmann, one of four golfers with rounds below par on both Sunday and Monday, fired rounds of 67 (-5) and 70 (-2) for a cumulative 137 (-7). He trailed John Carroll University's Daniel Donahue by one despite posting the lowest round of his career in the opening round, but was able to surpass him on Monday. Hoffman held on for a one-shot win over Donahue and teammate Justy VonLehmden. 

As a team, John Carroll continued its red-hot start to the 2026-27 season with a 23-stroke win over the rest of the field. The Blue Streaks finished 15-under with rounds of 281 (-7) and 280 (-8) and placed four inside the top eight. JCU's score was the best since D-II Gannon University finished with a 279-275-554 (-22) in the fall of 2023. Allegheny was the runner-up on its home course with a 291 (+3) on Sunday and a 293 (+5) on Monday. Penn State Altoona was only two shots back in third place.

Junior Mekayl Maajid (Lahore, Pakistan/Roots Ivy International) was Allegheny's biggest mover during the tournament. Maajid followed up his first-round 76 (+4) with a 71 (-1) on Monday, thanks in part to birdies on the 12th, 15th, and 18th holes. He climbed 12 spots into a two-way tie for 12th place.
