Men's Tennis Breaks Into National Rankings at No. 56

ITA Division III Men's Tennis Rankings

MEADVILLE, Pa. --
The Allegheny College men's tennis team earned a ranking for the first time this season from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) in the most recent edition of the Division III national poll.

The Gators made their debut in the April 1 rankings at No. 56. While playing one of the toughest schedules in recent history, Allegheny boasts a 10-7 overall record with a 3-0 record in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). In dual competition against Division III teams, all of the Gators' losses have come against opponents who were nationally ranked on the date of competition or are among the top 60 teams in the current poll.

Last spring, the Allegheny men's tennis team peaked at No. 50 in the ITA D-III poll. After winning their third consecutive PAC title and earning a first-round win over Nichols College in the NCAA Championships, the Gators ended the year ranked 75th.

Allegheny has a pair of split-squad matches on the docket for Wednesday, April 8. The Gators will host Westminster College at the Robertson Athletic Complex at 4:30 p.m., while the other half of the team will travel to Geneva College for a 6 p.m. contest.
