TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Adam Memije (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) of the Allegheny College men's tennis team earned his sixth award of the season from the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) on Monday afternoon.
Following Saturday's win over Washington and Jefferson College in the regular-season finale, Memije was tabbed the PAC's Newcomer of the Week.
The first-year standout led the Gators to another 7-0 conference victory, as Allegheny finished the PAC slate with a perfect 8-0 record with eight shutouts. In his No. 2 doubles match, he captured a 6-1 win. Memije then picked up his 25th singles win of the year with a 6-1, 6-0 decision in the No. 1 spot.
With one more singles win, Memije will tie the program's single-season record, currently held by Patrick Cole '14.
The Allegheny men's tennis team begins the hunt for a fourth consecutive PAC championship in the semifinal round on Thursday, April 23, at 4 p.m.
