TRAFFORD, Pa. – For the second time this spring, freshman standout
Adam Memije (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) was tabbed the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Tennis Newcomer of the Week.
Memije was a double winner in Allegheny's 6-1 non-conference victory over the University of Rochester on Saturday. In the second doubles match, he and
Benedek Kaibas (Salgótarján, Hungary/Mikszáth Kálmán Gimnázium) beat Ethan Samora and Aiden Swartz, 6-4. Memije then won his No. 1 singles contest over Andy Liu by scores of 6-2 and 6-1.
With two wins over Rochester, Memije improved to 24-16 overall in his debut season. He leads all Gators with 19 singles wins, including nine out of the top spot in the lineup.
Memije and the Gators are scheduled to open PAC action on Friday, March 27, at 4 p.m. against Waynesburg University.
