CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Allegheny women's track and field team competed in the Vulcan Early Bird Invitational, hosted by California (Pa.) Saturday (March 21), to open up the outdoor portion of the schedule.
Angelee Bawek (Goodyear, Ariz./Estrella Foothills) had the top highlight of the afternoon for the Gators as she won the shot put with a heave of 12.15 meters, a personal best. She also finished fourth in the javelin with a toss of 31.14 meters and fifth in the discus with a throw of 34.08 meters.
On the track,
Samantha Oakes (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) carded the top individual finish, placing third in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 19:45.19.
Shyann Rulander (Warren, Pa./Warren) placed sixth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:29.36 while also taking seventh in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 5:03.19.
Lilly Larkin (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) was eighth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.49 while
Renee Tetlow (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) (1:09.14) was eighth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.14.
In the other field events,
Corinne Inkley (Randolph, N.Y./Randolph Central) finished fifth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.10 meters. She also placed sixth in the long jump with a leap of 5.37 meters.
Aubryanna Snyder (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) had a sixth-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 10.79 meters.
