TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Allegheny College's
Pijus Latauskas (Vilnius, Lithuania/Kiski Prep (Pa.)) was once again recognized for his outstanding performance on the hardwood by collecting his sixth Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Newcomer of the Week award.
Latauskas has now won six of the conference's 13 Newcomer of the Week awards this season; no other player in the PAC has earned more than one. Including
Lincoln Brockmeyer's (Akron, Ohio/Copley) award on December 15, Allegheny has collected seven total in 2025-26.
The 6-foot-8 forward guided the Gators to wins over Westminster College, the top-ranked team in the North Division, and Chatham University, one of three teams tied for first in the South Division. He averaged 14.5 points per game with a team-high 7.5 rebounds per contest while shooting 66.7% (10-of-15). Latauskas logged a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double at Westminster and shot 5-for-7 (71.4%) from beyond the arc against the Titans. He then made 5-of-6 (83.3 percent) field goals for 13 points in a comeback win over the Cougars on Saturday.
On the season, Latauskas – one of three Gators to start all 21 games – leads the team in scoring with 14.2 points per game and is second with 5.2 rebounds per contest.
Allegheny will hit the road for its next game to face Grove City College on Wednesday, February 11, at 7:30 p.m.
