TRAFFORD, Pa. – Ben Shields (Charleroi, Pa./Charleroi Area) of the Allegheny baseball team was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Pitcher of the Week after a complete game win in their season opening doubleheader sweep.
 
Shields helped the Gators complete their season opening doubleheader sweep of Regent by earning the win in game two. Pitching a complete game, Shields struck out 10 batters while allowing just two runs on five hits and a walk as the Gators won 10-2.
 
The Gators open up play at the RussMatt Invitational in Florida on Friday (Feb. 27) against St. Olaf.
