PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) presented both weekly accolades to the Allegheny College men's tennis team in the first round of awards for the 2026 spring season.
Junior
Javier Bejarano Jimenez (El Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain/IES Padre Luis Coloma) was named the PAC Player of the Week and freshman
Adam Memije (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) was tabbed the Newcomer of the Week. Both Gators earned a pair of wins across matches against No. 18 Carnegie Mellon University, Oberlin College, and No. 5 Case Western Reserve University.Â
Bejarano Jimenez opened the spring with two singles wins in a doubleheader with 18th-ranked CMU and Oberlin on February 7. He earned Allegheny's only point against the Tartans with a 6-0, 6-3 win in the fifth singles match. He also took down Oberlin's fifth singles player in a super tiebreaker, 3-6, 6-1, 10-3. Bejarano Jimenez finished the first two weeks of the spring with a 2-2 overall record.
Memije suffered a loss to the eighth-ranked singles player in the country against Carnegie Mellon, but rebounded in the nightcap to defeat Oberlin's Shawn Lisann in the No. 1 singles contest, 6-3, 6-3. On February 13 against CWRU, the national runner-up last season, Memije split his two matches. He teamed with senior
Benedek Kaibas (Salgótarján, Hungary/Mikszáth Kálmán Gimnázium) for a 6-4 second doubles bout before taking four games off regionally-ranked Matthew Plunkett in the top singles match.
Bejarano Jimenez, Memije, and the rest of the Gators will begin their spring break trip in Florida on Monday, March 2, against No. 24 Christopher Newport University at 11 a.m.
