UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Allegheny College junior
Corinne Inkley (Randolph, N.Y./Randolph Central) set a new program record at Saturday's John Carroll University Alumni Meet.
Inkley earned one of four Allegheny victories with a new indoor school and personal record in the pole vault. She bested her indoor PR by 30 centimeters, clearing 3.65 meters on her final attempt. Inkley broke the previous indoor record of 3.50 meters, which was set two decades ago by Sarah Sammel '08. Not only was her pole vault an All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) qualifier, but it also ranks 11th in all of Division III.
The Gators also jumped to the top of the podium in the high jump. Sophomore
Megan Zimmerman (Carlisle, Pa./Big Spring) defeated John Carroll's Ella Gill in a head-to-head battle, as Zimmerman surpassed 1.45 meters on her second attempt.
On the track, first-year
Lilly Larkin (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) beat three current JCU sprinters and three Blue Streak alumnae in the 400-meter dash. Larkin clocked in at 1:04.84 and was nearly one-and-a-half seconds faster than runner-up Jayda Champer. Larkin then helped
Logan Wagner (Woodville, Ohio/Oak Harbor),
Renee Tetlow (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva), and
Mariah Helvy-Bruce (Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills) defeat a quartet of JCU alums in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:53.86.
