MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's cross country team hosted the Ben Mourer '07 Classic Saturday (Sept. 20) in Meadville.
The annual Allegheny cross country invitational was renamed to the Ben Mourer '07 Classic this year in honor of the late Gator head coach. The meet also served as a preview to the 2025 Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship, which will be held in Meadville on Nov. 1.
As a team, the Gators placed eighth out of 13 teams with a score of 230. Baldwin Wallace won the team title with a score of 52.
Carlos Cheruiyot of Saint Francis won the individual title, besting the field of 186 runners with an 8k time of 27:01.
Caleb Freeman (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) had the top finish for Allegheny, placing 25th with a time of 28:25.
Tyler Biss (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) was not far behind, placing 29th with a time of 28:32.
Patrick Sharp (Brighton, N.Y./Brighton) was 51st with a time of 30:02 while
Landon Schmader (Brockport, Pa./Brockway) was 58th at 32:16.
Rayden Long (Ernest, Pa./Marion Center Area) finished 67th (33:58) while
Oliver Schneider (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) placed 77th (37:59) to round out the Gator runners.
