TRAFFORD, Pa. – Jacy Diaz (Barranquitas, Puerto Rico/Gallatin (Tenn.)) of the Allegheny volleyball team was named the Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Week for her performance over four matches at the Great Lakes Cross Over.
 
In four matches, Diaz produced 108 digs, 21 assists and seven aces. In a three-set win against Heidelberg in the opener, Diaz had 17 digs. In five set matches against Salem and Muskingum, Diaz had 29 and 24 digs, respectively. She also had three aces in each match. In the final game of the weekend, Diaz had a career-high 39 digs in a five-set win against Baldwin Wallace. During the match, Diaz recorded her 2,000th career dig.
 
The Gators are back in action Wednesday (Sept. 3) against John Carroll in Meadville.
