ERIE, Pa. – The Allegheny volleyball team dropped a non-conference road match at Penn State Behrend Thursday (Sept. 24).
The Lions won the sets 25-16, 25-17, 25-17.
The teams were tied at 12 in the opening set before the Lions rattled off a 10-2 run to take control. The Gators won a pair of points, but Penn State Behrend ended the set on a 5-0 run.
Allegheny jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the second set before the Lions tied it up at six. After Penn State Behrend took the lead, they maintained it the rest of the way as they won the second set.
In the third set, the sides traded points back-and-forth, finding themselves tied at seven. The Lions then won the next three points to push ahead. Later in the set, Penn State Behrend went on an 8-2 run en route to the third set win.

- Marissa Rish (Burton, Ohio/Berkshire) led the Gators with seven kills to go with nine assists and four digs.
- Carly Beers (Warren, Pa./Warren) finished with five kills while Kendall Brunn (Campbell, Ohio/Northeast Ohio Impact Academy) had four.
- Joanna Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa./Gateway) added seven assists and five digs.
- Duru Akbas (Ankara, Turkey/Layton Christian Academy (Utah)) led the team with 14 digs and three aces.
- Carlee Pepperman (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte Area) tallied seven digs and Bella Johnson (Waterford, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) had six.
