PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Coaches around the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) picked the Allegheny College men's soccer team to finish fourth in the conference in 2025, according to the annual preseason poll.
Allegheny placed fourth in the coaches' poll for the second time in as many years. The preseason ranking proved to be accurate last fall, as the Gators went 5-3-2 against PAC opponents and earned the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament. Allegheny then stunned Chatham University, 5-0, in a home quarterfinal matchup to punch its ticket to the semifinals.
The Blue and Gold earned 82 points, four ahead of fifth-place Waynesburg University (78). Grove City College topped the poll with six first-place votes and 116 points, just ahead of the defending champions from Franciscan University, who had five first-place votes and 113 points. Geneva College was third with 104 points and received the final first-place vote.
In addition to the results of the preseason coaches' poll, the PAC announced its Players to Watch for the 2025 campaign. Five Gators were recognized, highlighted by returning All-PAC honorees and rising
Will Gruca (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) and
Aidan Dyga (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny). They were joined by sophomore midfielder
Ben Keefer (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley), junior forward
Nick Magee (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township), and senior defender
Jacob Kubik-Pauw (Guatemala City, Guatemala/Hanover (N.H.)).
The Gators open the 2025 season at Penn State Behrend's Herb Lauffer Memorial Soccer Tournament against the host Lions on Friday, August 29, at 4:00 p.m.Â
