NABC Release
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Allegheny College men's basketball program received a trio of academic awards from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) on Thursday afternoon.
As a team, the Gators earned a Team Academic Excellence Award, which recognizes programs that completed the 2024–25 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. Allegheny was one of six Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) teams and one of nearly 400 programs nationwide honored with the award.
Individually, recent graduate
Luke Barker (New Castle, Pa./Struthers (Ohio)) and rising senior
Isaiah Portis (Medina, Ohio/Norwayne) were named to the NABC Honors Court. The Honors Court recognizes junior, senior, and graduate student-athletes who finished the 2024–25 academic year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. More than 2,400 players from all levels of college basketball were included on this year's list.
