MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny women's lacrosse and field hockey teams placed six student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large Teams.
Ema Caragein (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton LaSalle),
Kendall Cox (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) and
Lauren Petrarca (Simi Valley, Calif./Royal) of the women's lacrosse team and
Bella Cowen (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day School),
Maddy Keenan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Trafford) and
Emily Robles (Burlington Township, N.J./Burlington Township) from the field hockey team earned the honors.
For Petrarca, this marks her third time on the team. For Caragein and Robles, this marks their second time on the team.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District Women's At-Large Teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and the classroom. The at-large category includes student-athletes from women's beach volleyball, bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, and water polo.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. Field hockey and lacrosse athletes must have played in at least 90% or started in 66% of the team's competitions throughout the season.
Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Women's At-Large Academic All-America First-, Second-, and Third-Team honorees will be announced in July.
