WOOSTER, Ohio -- The Allegheny College women's golf team finished Monday's Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational at the Wooster Country Club in fourth place out of six competing teams.
The Gators battled through cold temperatures and wet conditions to card a cumulative score of 368 (+80) on the par-72, 5,630-yard course at the Wooster Country Club. The tournament was initially scheduled for two rounds, but Sunday's round was canceled due to the inclement weather in the forecast.
Senior
Elisa Gomez (La Mirada, Calif./St. Joseph) was Allegheny's top performer. Gomez carded an 88 (+16) and finished 10th overall. She logged five pars with one birdie on the par-4 12th.
The duo of junior
Josephine Corey (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern Central) and first year
Ada Coté (West Henrietta, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) represented two-thirds of the three-way tie for 17th place. Corey and Coté, along with Otterbein University's Aimee Hayes, posted identical scores of 93 (+21). Corey posted a birdie on the par-3 eighth hole, while Coté paced all Gators with three birdies. Kessler Potter (Kents Store, Va./Fluvanna County), who tied for 20th, also turned in a birdie on the par-5 first hole.
