TRAFFORD, Pa. – Anton Hedlund (Hovas, Sweden/Katrinelundsgymnasiet) and Kristian Janci (Kysucké Nové Mesto, Slovakia/The British International School Shanghai) of the 50th-ranked Allegheny men's tennis team earned Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) weekly honors as the team started conference play 3-0 last week.
 
Hedlund was named the Player of the Week while Janci was named the Newcomer of the Week. For Janci, this marks his second newcomer nod and third award overall while Hedlund earned his honor for the second straight week.
 
The Gators picked up 7-0 sweeps against Grove City, Franciscan and Thiel last week. Hedlund and Janci played each match at first doubles, giving up just four total games. In singles action, Hedlund won at first singles against Thiel and second singles against Grove City and Franciscan. Janci played first singles against Grove City and Franciscan, winning each match.
 
The Gators are back in action Tuesday (April 8) at home against Geneva.
