PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Allegheny College's
Evie Ellenberger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) was announced as the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Outdoor Track and Field Newcomer of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
It's the second time Ellenberger has been recognized by the PAC for track and field. She was previously named Newcomer of the Week during the indoor season on February 11 after earning All-PAC honors for tennis in the fall.
At Slippery Rock University's John Papa Invitational last Thursday, Ellenberger turned in a pair of fifth-place finishes with personal records in the long jump and triple jump. She was the highest-placing Division III athlete in the long jump with a mark of 5.46 meters, trailing only a quartet of D-II jumpers from SRU and West Liberty University. In her first attempt at the triple jump since the PAC Indoor Championships, Ellenberger reached 10.41 meters.
In the outdoor season, Ellenberger currently ranks second in the PAC in the long jump, fourth in the triple jump, and 12th in the 100-meter dash (13.44 seconds).
