PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- For the fourth time this season, Allegheny College's
Dylan Kochis (Saint Augustine, Fla./B. Reed Henderson (Pa.)) has been named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Golf Newcomer of the Week.
After winning three consecutive Newcomer of the Week awards in late September and early October, Kochis was recognized again after leading the Gators to their second spring tournament victory. The junior transfer, in his first season of collegiate golf, was Allegheny's top performer at The Moselem Cup at Moselem Springs in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania.
Kochis was second out of 66 competitors with a 9-over 149, just two strokes shy of the individual medalist. He carded a 74 (+4) on Monday and a 75 (+5) on Tuesday, recording 20 total pars and a team-high-tying four birdies. Kochis helped the Allegheny men produce the lowest team scores during both rounds for a two-day total of 611 (+51), 16 strokes better than the runners-up from Stevens Institute of Technology.
The Gators are currently wrapping up play at their last regular-season tournament of the spring, the Win Palmer Cup, hosted by Wittenberg University at the Allegheny Country Club in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. The 2025 PAC Spring Championships are scheduled for Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26, at Mill Creek South in Boardman, Ohio.
