Rakis Named to USILA Team of the Week

USILA Release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --
Allegheny College attackman JP Rakis (Kensington, Md./Walter Johnson) was recognized by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) for the second time in his career with a spot on the Division III Team of the Week.

Rakis, the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Offensive Player of the Week, was one of 10 D-III players honored for the week of March 3-9. He accumulated 15 points (10g-5) with nine ground balls and three caused turnovers, leading Allegheny to wins over Alfred University and Hiram College.

Against the Saxons, Rakis scored three goals with one assist, leading the Gators to a 10-6 come-from-behind. He also became the second player in program history to reach 100 career points in that contest. In Allegheny's 15-4 triumph against Hiram, Rakis broke his own record for points in a game. The third-year attacker netted seven goals with four assists for 11 points.

Rakis and the Gators are home against on Saturday, March 15, at 1:00 p.m. when they host SUNY Brockport at Frank B. Fuhrer Field.
