MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's lacrosse team was unable to overcome a quick start by Chatham as the Gators fell 14-4 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play Saturday (April 4) in Meadville.
The Cougars jumped out to a quick lead, scoring three goals in the opening minute. They added two more goals later in the frame to take a five goal lead into the second.
The Gators struck first in the second quarter. In a man-up situation,
JP Rakis (Kensington, Md./Walter Johnson) fed
Nathan Wheeler (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) for the team's first goal. They did not need much more time to score again as
Tomi Horsley (Salt Lake City, Utah/Brighton) scored unassisted less than 90 seconds later. The Cougars scored the final two goals of the half as they took a 7-2 lead into the locker room.
Chatham added four goals in the third quarter while keeping the Gators off the board.
After Chatham scored first in the fourth,
Griffin Cates (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey) answered off an assist by Rakis. The Gators once again took advantage of an extra-man opportunity as defender
Liam Kruck (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin) scored an unassisted goal. However, the Cougars scored twice late in the game as the Gators fell in conference play.

- Rakis had two assists to go with two groundballs.
- Wheeler had a goal, four groundballs and a caused turnover.
- Horsley scored once and also had four groundballs.
- Kruck scored while collecting three groundballs and causing a turnover.
- Cates rounded out the goal scorers while picking up three groundballs.
- Garin Stearns (Hudson, Ohio/Revere) made 22 stops in goal.
