CLEVELAND -- Allegheny College women's track and field continued its season-opening weekend with several strong performances at Case Western Reserve University's Spartan Alumni Holiday Classic at the Veale Center on Saturday.

Jumpers Evie Ellenberger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and Aubryanna Snyder (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) led the way with a pair of victories, four top-three finishes, two personal records, and a new school record.

Ellenberger began the day by breaking a 32-year-old team record in the long jump. Each of her last three attempts would have surpassed the previous record of 5.44 meters, set by Jody Mathews in 1993. Ellenberger's last jump was her best, as she reached 5.62 meters on her sixth try. She was also the runner-up in the triple jump with an indoor PR of 10.85 meters.

Snyder was the only athlete ahead of Ellenberger in the triple jump. The junior set a new PR at 11.09 meters on her second of six attempts, which ranks third-best on the program leaderboards. Snyder also placed third in the long jump (5.17 meters) and was the top Gator finisher in the 60-meter dash in 11th place (8.34 seconds).

First-year Mariah Helvy-Bruce (Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills) earned a pair of top-10 finishes in her collegiate debut. Helvey-Bruce was sixth out of 22 runners in the 200-meter dash at 27.51 seconds and placed eighth out of 12 in the 400-meter dash at 1:05.14.
