MEADVILLE, Pa. – A trio of Allegheny volleyball student-athletes were named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District for their performances on and off the court during the 2025 season.
 
Duru Akbas (Ankara, Turkey/Layton Christian Academy (Utah)), Jacy Diaz (Barranquitas, Puerto Rico/Gallatin (Tenn.)) and Carlee Pepperman (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte Area) brought home the honors.
 
For Diaz, this marks her third time earning the honor, and for Akbas, this marks her second.
 
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, and have played in at least 90 percent or started in 66 percent of the team's competitions throughout the season.
 
Select Academic All-District winners will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, Second, and Third-Team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in January.
