BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Allegheny volleyball team picked up a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) sweep on the road Tuesday (Nov. 4) at Geneva.
The Gators won the sets 25-12, 25-21, 25-21.
Allegheny scored the first five points of the opening set and did not look back after that. The Gators led by as much as 12 points in the set as they won it 25-12.
After some back-and-forth to begin the second set, the Golden Tornadoes took an 8-5 lead. The Gators battled back and tied the set at 17. Geneva responded with a 3-0 run before Allegheny once again tied it up, this time at 21. The Gators ended up finishing the set on a 6-0 run as they captured the second set 25-21.
Knotted at five in the third set, the Gators rattled off a 4-0 run to jump ahead. Allegheny was able to maintain that advantage the rest of the way as they completed the sweep with a 24-21 set three win.
Inside the Box
- Sydney Kirk (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton LaSalle Catholic) led the team with 10 kills.
- Amaya Brooks (North Olmsted, Ohio/Lutheran West) was second on the team with eight kills.
- Reilly Mendez (Los Gatos, Calif./Los Gatos) ended the match with seven kills while Skyler Fatola (Queen Creek, Ariz./Eastmark) had six.
- Joanna Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa./Gateway) had 16 assists, three digs and two aces.
- Izzy Gray (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) tallied 15 assists, three digs and three blocks,
- Jacy Diaz (Barranquitas, Puerto Rico/Gallatin (Tenn.)) led the backline with 18 digs.
- Carlee Pepperman (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte Area) had eight digs and Jayne Seth (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) added seven.

- Allegheny is now 15-8 all-time against Geneva and improved to 8-7 in PAC play.
