ALTOONA, Pa. -- Senior Logan Greer (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside) posted a top-10 finish to lead the Allegheny College men's golf team at the two-day Sinking Valley Collegiate Classic, hosted by Penn State Altoona at the Sinking Valley Country Club on Sunday and Monday.

Playing as an individual and not a part of Allegheny's quintet, Greer was one of seven to tie for seventh place. After carding a 7-over 77 on Sunday, he climbed 15 spots up the leaderboard with a 5-over 75 during the final round. Greer was tied for the team lead with four birdies and parred 18 of the 36 holes played at Sinking Valley.

Freshman Christopher Hoffman (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) also logged four birdies, but one hole cost him a shot at a top-five performance. Hoffman ended Sunday's action tied for fourth place with a 4-over 74. Although he was one stroke better on the front nine Monday and parred seven consecutive holes from the 12th through 18th, he ran into trouble and scored a 10 on the 445-yard, par-4 11th. Hoffman was two strokes behind Greer with a cumulative 154 (+14), tying for 21st place out of 104 total finishers.

In the largest tournament field the Gators have faced this season, the Allegheny men concluded the Sinking Valley Collegiate Classic in ninth place out of 20 teams with rounds of 316 (+36) and 324 (+44).
