NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- The Allegheny College men's cross country team placed two inside the top 15 at the Daniel Mullen Memorial Invitational, hosted by Muskingum University on Saturday at Moorehead Farm.
As a team, Allegheny was fifth out of seven scoring teams with 125 points. The Gators trailed fourth-place College of Wooster by just 16 points and held a 15-point advantage over the hosts from Muskingum.
For the second consecutive race, senior
Caleb Freeman (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) was the first Gator to cross the finish line. Freeman completed the eight-kilometer race in fifth place with a time of 28:07.9. He was approximately 45 seconds behind the individual race winner, Jonathan Trush of Division II PennWest California (27:23.2).
First-year runner
Tyler Biss (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) came in 14th place out of 87 total competitors. Biss navigated his second collegiate 8K in 28:59.6. Senior
Patrick Sharp (Brighton, N.Y./Brighton) was the third Gator finisher in 30th with a time of 30:15.8.
