TRAFFORD, Pa. – Ava Kobus (Pittsburgh, Pa./Norwin) of the Allegheny College women's basketball team was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Newcomer of the Week for her performances in three games last week.
 
Kobus helped the Gators go 2-1 oagainst PAC opponents last week by averaging 6.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.
 
In Allegheny's win at Westminster College, Kobus netted 10 points to go alongside five rebounds, her third game of the season with double-digit points. In the loss at Saint Vincent, Kobus tallied nine points, four rebounds, two blocks, two steals, and one assist.
 
For the season, Kobus is averaging 5.9 points and 4.5 rebounds per game with 11 steals and nine blocks.
 
The Gators are back at home Wednesday (Jan. 15), playing host to Thiel College.
