ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Allegheny College women's golf team wrapped up its second tournament of the fall season, the 2024 Ithaca Invitational, hosted by the Ithaca College Bombers at the RaNic Golf Club over the weekend.

As a team, the Gators placed fourth overall against a field of New York-based institutions with a two-round cumulative score of 676 (+100). Allegheny was 27 strokes better versus par at the Ithaca Invitational than they were at the season-opening Lynn Schweitzer Invitational last weekend.

Two Gators, Josephine Corey (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern Central) and Elisa Gomez (La Mirada, Calif./St. Joseph), tied for 13th place to pace the Blue and Gold. Corey and Gomez both carded a 36-hole score of 165 (+21) and were just two strokes shy of a top-10 performance. Corey scored better on Saturday with an 81 (+9), while Gomez shaved one stroke off her first-round total for an 82 (+10) on Sunday. Both Gators also had a first-round birdie, with Corey doing so on the par-4 fifth and Gomez on the par-3 11th.

First-year golfers Kessler Potter (Kents Store, Va./Fluvanna County) and Ada Coté (West Henrietta, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) earned top-20 finishes. Potter fired rounds of 86 (+14) and 84 (+12) with a second-round birdie on the par-5 15th. Coté, who birdied the same hole on Sunday, turned in scores of 90 (+18) and 86 (+14).
