TRAFFORD, Pa. – Cadan Bennett (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) of the Allegheny men's soccer team was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Newcomer of the Week for his performances in the Gators' three games last week.
 
Allegheny went 1-1-1 in three games last week, defeating Oberlin 1-0, drawing with SUNY Geneseo 2-2 and falling to Nazareth 2-1.
 
Bennett finished those three games with 21 saves, a .840 save percentage and a 1.33 goals-against average. 
 
In the win against Oberlin, Bennett had a five save shutout, earning his first win of the year. In the draw against SUNY Geneseo, he made nine saves, including stopping a penalty kick. In the final game of the week, Bennett made seven saves against Nazareth.
 
The Gators are back in action Monday evening (Sept. 16), on the road at Hiram.
